I missed KRNE (pronounced CRAY-NE) at his Houston Something Wicked performance, which i was incredibly sad about, but when I found out he was going to be opening up in multiple cities across the country on the GUD Vibrations bus tour with Slander b2b NGHTMRE & Habstrakt in some cities (this is an incredible line up BTW) I was over joyed. I immediately started texting all my musically inclined friends & one friend asked me for a set/mix, so I found one Where he opened up for the incredibly Talented Stookie Sound & Hermitude In LA this year, wish I had been able to catch that show. & Here I bring you the incredible mind of KRNE, Jam this at your office at work or on the way to the club.
— He opens up with a massive trap banger called Exodus by Jacuzzi (needs to be verified but from what i found that is the track ID) right into Breaux’s well known massive VIP edit of Eptic’s The End.
— He drops his own phenomenal track with Alexander Lewis – Fall apart at around minute 4:20, this is one of the first songs by KRNE that caught my attention and brought me to his soundcloud.
— Not sure who’s edit of RL Grime’s – Scylla he mixed in but it’s straight heat, if someone knows feel free to comment & I’ll add it in. (might be a mashup, Fun Fact RL Grime dropped some KRNE in 2 of his biggest sets this year which were Bonnaroo & EDC Vegas)
–His ability to transition between hip hop tracks such as Vic Mensa & kanye’s U mad to a lyricless trap track into Rick Ross’s Everyday Im Hustlin’ into trap is seamless, im huge on transitions like this and he earns big points with me for it.
–at around minute 13 you’re hearing KRNE’s own beautiful remix of Keys & Krates – I Know You. ❤
— We caught that Rustie – Coral Castlez vs Smookie Illson – Club Action at minute 18:20, same one RL Grime played in his Bonnaroo set.
— At around minute 33:00 you’re hearing RL Grime’s VIP Remix of NGHTMRE’s Street ❤
— Minute 40:20 “straight like dat”
— I lost my shit at around minute 43:00 when he mixed in Aaliyah, RIP.
–minute 57 Grandtheft & Keys & Krates – keep it 100
KRNES set is amazing, from the transitions to the track selectios its an A1 composition.
I wasn’t there so I’m not 100 percent positive but it sounds like he has a live trumpet player with him for the set, if he does… wow awesome.
Sidenote: I intentionally left alot of these tracks un ID’d because i learned so much & discovered so many new tracks & artists while hunting down these ID’s. I didn’t discover them all but i Encourage you to do the same thing, learn & discover new music.
Feel Free to comment Track ID’s as you discover them or if you know them, especially if it’s a track im hunting for.
