Holy Bass Gods! 2017, is turning out to be a great year for bass music, with Excision setting the bar in this bass revolution. Coming off of his Virus album released late last year (which turned out to be his highest selling album to date), Excision just dropped the nastiest of nasty, Virus Remixes album. With some of the biggest names in the Bass world right now, such as, Barley Alive, 12th Planet, Eliminate, Sullivan King, Seven Lions, Crizzly, Dillon Francis, Wooli, Cookie Monsta, and that is just to name a few.  With a tracklist like this, it is obvious that Excision wanted to make sure to cover ever inch of the bass spectrum, creating an album nothing short of amazing.

Lost Lands

With Excision’s highly anticipated festival, Lost Lands, just two weeks away, at the famous Legend Valley, in Thornville, OH. I couldn’t think of a more genius time for this 18 track remix album to be released. The album is packed full of many of the artist scheduled to be performing at the festival later this month. This leaving fans asking question, like, “Are they going to throw these songs?”, and, “Do you think Excision will surprise us during their sets?” All I know, is that I can’t wait to find out either! I’m sure we are in for a treat.

My Favorite Remixes

One of the hardest things I have had to do in awhile was try and figure out which remix I liked the most. So, the best I could do for you guys was narrow down to three. In no particular order:

  • Throwin Elbows (Getter & Virtual Riot remix)
  • Final Boss ( Dillon Francis remix)
  • With You ( Sullivan King remix)

All three of these songs, are the exact definition of what a remix album should be. Throwin Elbows, which was one of the most successful tracks of The Virus album, blends so nicely with that typical “Getter sound”, then you add Virtual Riot to the mix and just like that you have a masterpiece. Sullivan Kings remix of With You left me begging for more, I probably listened to this track three of four times before moving on to the next one. What I loved most about Final Boss, was that I could tell it was a Dillon Francis remix with out even looking. This track is the perfect combination of Excision and Dillon Francis’s different bass styles.

What The Fans are Saying

After Virus Remixes came out, I thought I should go and find out what other fans had to say about the album, here is what I got:

“The Paradox remix by Seven Lions & Dimibo is probably my favorite out of all the remixes. It just has the unique twist, and you can tell Seven Lions stuck to his true self while making this. Also, I’m already a HUGE Crizzly fan so of course his remix of Rave Thing is one of my faves. I love that he kept the original entry and just added more filth to it.”  – Cassie Leach (Beaumont,TX)

“I Loved it. Every track was good, but my fav would probably have to be Generator (Eliminate Remix), it was super technical I guess you could say. A lot of different sounds combined and still flowed really well together, and I get really amp’d when I hear it.” -Darrell Griggs (Houston, TX)

I liked Paradox, dude! It’s pretty sick. I like the drops, sounds nasty, makes me want to lose my sh**! – Eddy Narcizo (Houston, TX)

Closing

With all of that being said, if you haven’t gone to listen to this album yet, you are missing out! For those of you who will be attending Lost Lands, in Ohio later this month, I know this album has you all just as pumped as I am to see Excision and the rest of these artist who will be throwing down that filth at this festival. If this is even a small example of what we are in for, I don’t know if I am ready!
