The Rave Siblings sum up 2017 and set their goals for 2018

The Rave Siblings

Hello! Welcome to the Rave Sibling Diaries, we are just a brother and sister who share a love for music, dancing, and an even bigger love for the EDM community. We have traveled all over the United States to see our favorite artists, meet other siblings who share our story, and dance our youth away to the music and the people we love! Now thanks to Trillvo, we get to share our story and love for music with you guys every month, and what a better time to kick it off than the beginning of what we believe is going to be an amazing year!

2017 Rave Sibling Recap

As we sit down and reflect on the past year, we can’t help but think about everything we got to do, all the shows we attended, and all the artists we got to see. As a duo, we try to go to as many events as possible, but living in different cities, sometimes we have to adventure out on our own. We started our 2017 festival season off at MiddleLands, it was our first time camping at a festival, and though Rave Brother (a.k.a Dustin), didn’t know if Rave Sister (a.k.a Lauren), would be able to survive three nights out on the land, she actually enjoyed it. In fact, we are calling MiddleLands one of the best festivals of the year.

That wasn’t the only land we took on last year, we also made Rave Brother’s dreams come true as we traveled to Ohio for Excision’s Lost Lands. The land of prehistoric times and a bunch of wild ass Bassheads breaking their fucking necks. You see, we may look like your sweet shufflers who listen to The Chainsmokers, and wear way too much glitter (and those things are all true), but bass is in our souls. Breaking our necks, slamming rails, bass face, and getting straight nasty is our specialty!  Needless to say, we found our new home at Lost Land’s and plan to return again!

Finally, we closed our year off as a duo, in Rave Sister’s city with Something Wicked. Halloween festivals are our favorite, we already love playing dress up, and this holiday gives us the opportunity to take it a step further. Plus, Rave Brother has a weird fetish for horror movies. So it’s just meant to be! Plus, anyone who went and watched that RL Grime’s set, can tell you it was one you didn’t want to miss!

Rave Brother (Dustin)

There is no cooler feeling as an older brother to have something like music in common with your younger sister. Especially the way we get to travel and have the opportunity to see hundreds and hundreds of artists.  We have disagreed, cried, laughed, and danced over our love for music, and I can’t wait to see what 2018 has in store for us.

My end of 2017 was so amazing, as I traveled to Dallas for Lights All Night, and then down to Houston to bring in the New Year with Tchami. It really was the cherry on top of a perfect year. These are the moments why I wish the Rave Siblings could be together ALL the time so we can share ALL the experiences.

My goal individually is to continue to work my ass off as an editor/writer for Trillvo. I also would love to start getting into artist buying and hope that I can continue to work towards that. As for the Rave Siblings, I hope we get to continue to share our story and have support from the people we love. We are so excited to be bringing you the Rave Siblings Diaries articles through Trillvo, and can’t wait to share everything we are doing to help spread music in 2018.

Rave Brother couldn’t have said it any better. We cried, we laughed, and we danced our asses off for our love of MUSIC. 2017 was a year of growth for my brother and I, and it has made me so freaking excited for what’s to come in 2018.

I can’t speak for Rave Bro, but I can’t wait to see what amazing artists throw down in this upcoming year. 2018 for me is going to be about trying new things, traveling to new places, creating and manifesting. My hopes as far as the Rave Siblings has always been to meet dope people, spread good vibes, share our story and to always be true to who we are.

I’m more than happy to be a part of the rave community in 2018 and to take on year 5 of raving with my brother. We are even more ecstatic at the fact we now get to share it with everyone. If you see us at a festival or a show this year, don’t be shy and come help us make 2018 the best year yet!
