Holy Molé is one of my favorite new record labels and not just because of my love of guac. New York based Dirtybird producer Codes’ new label has been dropping sweet and spicy releases that are delicious to your ears.
Holy Molé’s latest release, The Magis Ep, is a magical 2 track dish featuring fellow Dirtybird Artist VNSSA and Ocean Roulette with remixes by Steve Darko, Sara Landry, and Morelia. Its already received fantastic support from Vanilla Ace, Cut Snake, Dr. Fresch, and Gettoblaster. It was also a featured track for Walker & Royce Insomniac Radio, Golf Clap CCD Insomniac Radio. Serving up a fusion of club-ready rhythms and warped synths, ‘Magic’ and ‘Blocked Calls’ are perfect play for a club night or staying in with chips and guac. Or if you’re me, a cup of guac on the dance floor.
The first track ‘Magic,’ much like its name implies, is a magical house tune with a catchy voice over spitting empowering lyrics perfect for your next house photo. Next up is ‘Blocked Calls,’ a tech house tune featuring oh so relatable lyrics “you keep calling, you don’t stop,” reminiscent of a crazy ex or perhaps those out of control spam calls.

Now its time for those saucy remixes! With its tripped out synths, Steve Darko’s ‘Magic’ remix has been spicing up sets while Morelia brings out the funky energy with breakdowns, bass lines, and broken beats. Lastly, and perhaps my favorite off the EP, is Sara Landry’s ‘Blocked Calls,’ remix. This dark 134 bpm remix will have you making Tik Tok videos to your ex’s voicemail. Or answer that Spam Risk and play back the track.
Grab some guac and check out the EP below to see which track is magic to your ears.
