3rd time’s a charm, right? This third track in what’s been a weekly release schedule, finds us head over heels for this 3rd deadmau5 track. “Fall” definitely makes good on its name. No, it isn’t a depressing track, nor is it a lovey-dovey track either. It’s a dark embodiment of mystery and depth. If this is our next stop on the musical space journey we mentioned back when we reviewed “Coasted”, then consider us on an entirely new playing field. The low bass and laser-like sounds, those punctuating kicks and that addicting melody permeate our eardrums in the best way. The track itself seems to land us on a desolate world, devoid of life. Regardless of the ominous isolation, “Fall” achieves what it sets out to do. It gives us that lonely alien vibe planet, before ending just as gloomily as it began.
It may be a darker track, but “Fall” definitely knows how to fit the vibe; Especially if you’re craving something on the more devious side. If this is the 3rd and final track from the three weeks of new releases, then deadmau5 has served us well. We were taken off guard by this darker yet grittier sound, but it was definitely a welcome change of pace. We’ve been frothing at the mouth for a new deadmau5 album for years, and if these three tracks are any indication of what we may get, then count us satisfied.
